Emory, Va. (Mar. 2, 2011) --- The Milligan College baseball team scored five runs in the final two innings to take a 14-12 victory over NCAA Division III foe Emory & Henry on Wednesday afternoon in Emory, Va.
Milligan trailed 10-9 at the end of the seventh inning, but bounced back with three runs in the eighth and two in the ninth to take the victory.
Ryan White (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the way for the Buffaloes with two homeruns and four RBIs.
Kyle Kolat (South Bend, Ind.) was 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while
Cory Hilton (Johnson City, Tenn.) was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
Bart Roark (Mountain City, Tenn.) recorded three RBIs in the game.
On the mound,
JJ Bergamin (Ontario, Canada) received the win in three innings of work. He gave up just three hits and one run. Freshman
Ethan Fleenor (Johnson City, Tenn.) got the start for Milligan.
With the win, the Buffaloes improve to 6-12 overall.
Milligan returns to action on Tuesday, March 8, when they travel to Savannah, Ga., for a game with SCAD-Savannah. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
