Milligan College, Tenn. (Apr. 15, 2011) --- The Milligan College Buffaloes softball team used a
Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) grand slam to pick up an AAC victory on Friday evening as they defeated Virginia Intermont 8-0 in a resumed game at Anglin Field.
The game resumed with Milligan up 1-0 in the bottom of the first, and the Buffaloes quickly added two runs when
Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.) and
Emily Biggs (Kingsport, Tenn.) crossed the plate to give Milligan a 3-0 lead at the end of first. Connatser gave the Buffaloes a 7-0 lead in the third inning with a grand slam. That would be all Milligan needed as they took the 8-0 victory.
In the pitching circle, Connatser got the start and the win as she threw a no hitter, and she recorded six strikeouts.
At the plate, Connatser was 1-for-2 with four RBIs, while
Brittany DiRobbio (Oviedo, Fla.) was also 1-for-2.
With the win, Milligan improves to 23-16 overall and 6-4 in AAC action.
The Buffaloes return to action on Sunday, April 17, when they host Tennessee Wesleyan for Senior Day at Anglin Field. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
