Milligan baseball falls to Montreat

Montreat, N.C. (Apr. 3, 2011) --- The Milligan College baseball team came up short in AAC action on Sunday afternoon as they fell 8-2 to Montreat College in Montreat, N.C.

The Buffaloes fell behind early in the game as the Cavaliers scored six runs in the first five innings. Milligan kept fighting, but was unable to close the gap in the AAC nine inning contest.

Offensively, Dustin Ford (Jonesborough, Tenn.) was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and Kyle Kolat (South Bend, Ind.) was 2-for-4. On the mound, Sean Robinson (Knoxville, Tenn.) got the start and was handed the loss. In five innings of work, Robinson allowed six runs on 10 hits.

With the loss, Milligan falls to 18-18 overall and 8-3 in AAC action.

The Buffaloes return to action on Monday, April 4, when they travel to Athens, Tenn., for a nine inning AAC matchup against nationally ranked Tennessee Wesleyan. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
