Milligan College, Tenn. (Aug. 30, 2011) --- The Milligan College volleyball team came up short as they fell 3-0 to third-ranked Lee University on Tuesday night in Cleveland, Tenn.
The first set saw the Buffaloes unable to keep up with the Flames attack as they fell 25-14. Milligan stayed right with Lee throughout the second and third sets, but was unable to stay in front in either as they fell 25-16 and 25-18, respectively.

Morgan Rutledge (Kingsport, Tenn.) led Milligan with 15 digs, while
Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) recorded 17 assists and five digs. Freshman
Rachel Renville (Broomfield, Colo.) had a team high eight kills, while
Kendra Fiddler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) had six kills apiece.
Erin Pittman (Norris, Tenn.) added six digs for the Buffaloes.
With the loss, Milligan drops to 1-4 on the season.
The Buffaloes return to action on Friday, Sept. 2, and Saturday, Sept. 3, when they participate in the Clearwater Christian College Labor Day Classic in Clearwater, Fla. Milligan opens the tournament on Friday against Evangel University at 2 p.m., and will also square off against Trinity Christian College at 4 p.m.
