Milligan volleyball falls at Bryan in thriller

Dayton, Tenn. (Sept. 23, 2011) --- The Milligan College volleyball team came up short as they fell 3-1 to Bryan College on Friday night in Dayton, Tenn.

The Buffaloes came up short 30-28 after an extended first set. Milligan battled back to take the second set by a score of 25-21. However, the Buffaloes were unable to take a late advantage in the third and fourth set as they fell 27-25 and 27-17, respectively.

Morgan Rutledge (Kingsport, Tenn.) recorded 30 digs, while Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) had 51 assists and 10 digs. Kendra Fiddler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) had 17 kills and four solo blocks. Freshman Rachel Renville (Broomfield, Colo.) had 16 kills, and Holly English (Kingsport, Tenn.).

With the loss, Milligan falls to 5-10 on the season and 3-2 in AAC action.

The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 24, when they face Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
