Waleska, Ga. (Sept. 24, 2011) --- The Milligan College volleyball team picked up a 3-1 AAC victory over Reinhardt University on Saturday afternoon in Waleska, Ga.
In the first set, Milligan pulled away in the closing stages to take a 25-23 set victory, and then claimed the second set by a score of 25-21. Reinhardt fought their way back to take a 27-25 victory in the third set. However, Milligan secured the match with a 26-24 set victory in the decisive fourth set.
Kendra Fiddler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded 16 kills and had five block assists, while
Morgan Rutledge (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 24 digs.
Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) tallied 42 assists and 14 digs.
Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) and
Rachel Renville (Broomfield, Colo.) had 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
With the win, Milligan improves to 6-10 overall and 3-2 in AAC play.
The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 27, when they host Montreat College to kick off a three-game home stand. Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m., inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
