Bristol, Va. (Jan. 25, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team was unable to recover from an early Virginia Intermont run as they fell 66-49 in AAC action on Wednesday night in Bristol, Va.
 VI opened the game on a 23-4 run in the first 10 minutes as Jamiee Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) scored both baskets for the Buffaloes. The Buffaloes fought back as they cut the VI lead to 13, but the Lady Cobras took a 37-19 lead at the break.
  At the half, Hill led Milligan with nine points. As a team, the Buffaloes were 6-of-29 (21%) from the field and 2-of-11 (18%) from the 3-point line. VI was 14-of-27 (52%) from the floor and 4-of-7 (57%) from behind the arc.
  In the second half,
Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) hit back-to-back baskets for Milligan, but VI responded with a 9-0 run. The Buffaloes kept fighting, but was unable to cut into the gap any further.

  Hill finished with 14 points to lead Milligan. Good had 13 points, and
Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) tallied up 10 points. As a team, Milligan was 16-of-62 (26%) from the floor and 7-of-23 (30%) from the 3-point line. VI ended the game 24-of-51 (47%) from the field and 4-of-12 (33%) from behind the arc.
  With the loss, Milligan falls to 5-5 in AAC action and 13-9 overall. VI improves to 7-3 in conference play and 14-8 overall.
  The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Jan. 28, as they host Montreat College in an AAC clash. Game time is set for 2 p.m., inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
