Dayton, Tenn. (Jan. 7, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's basketball jumped out early and never looked back as they captured a 89-65 AAC victory over Bryan College on Saturday afternoon in Dayton, Tenn.

  The Buffaloes never trailed in the game as they jumped out to a 43-24 lead at the break. Milligan extended their advantage in the second period to as many 31 points before Bryan closed the gap.

  Milligan was led by
Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) as she went 5-for-5 from the 3-point line for 15 points.
Jaimee Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) tallied 14 points, while
Megan Casteel (Greeneville, Tenn.) and
Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had 10 points apiece.
Alisha Mainer (Flag Pond, Tenn.) had nine points and a team high eight rebounds.

  As a team, the Buffaloes were 36-of-64 (53%) from the floor and 13-of-24 (54%) from the 3-point line. Bryan was 27-of-62 (44%) from the field and 5-of-18 (28%) from behind the arc.

  With the victory, Milligan improves to 2-2 in AAC action and 10-6 overall, while Bryan drops to 10-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

  The Buffaloes return to action when they begin a two-game home stand on Monday, Jan. 9, when they host Bluefield College in a game that was originally slated for last week but was postponed due to snow. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m., inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
