Selma, Ala. (Nov. 3, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team came up short in their 2012-13 season opener as they fell 79-68 to Selma University in Selma, Ala., on Saturday afternoon.

  In the first half, Selma quickly jumped out to a 14-4 lead. The Buffaloes battled back to cut the gap to two points midway through the half, but Selma used a 6-0 run to pull ahead and maintained the advantage as they led 42-32 at the half.

  The Buffaloes slowly cut the gap to five points to start the second half. Milligan continued to battle to close the gap as they pulled with two points, but Selma used a late run in the closing minutes to take the victory.

Mickey Woods (Port Arthur, Texas) had 18 points, while
Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) recorded 14 points.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Monday, Nov. 5, as they host Warren Wilson inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
