Wise, Va. (Feb. 17, 2012) --- The Milligan College softball team picked up their first wins of the season with road wins against the University of Virginia's College at Wise in Wise, Va., on Friday afternoon. The Buffaloes took the first game 8-0 in six innings and then won 5-3 in the second.ÂÂ
  In the first game,
Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) picked up the win inside the pitching circle. In four innings pitched, Connatser recorded four strikeouts and one hit. Freshman
Samantha Mahala (Mountain City, Tenn.) got two strikeouts in relief duty.ÂÂ

  At the plate,
Camille Olvey (Maryville, Tenn.) and
Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.) had homeruns to help propel the Buffaloes to victory. Olvey finished the game 3-for-3, and Lambdin ended the game 2-for-3.
Brittany DiRobbio (Ovieda, Fla.) went 2-for-3 with an impressive three RBIs, and
Maleah Wolfenbarger (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished 2-for-4 with one RBI.

  In the second game, the Buffaloes continued their offensive roll to take the victory. Lambdin finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Freshman
Sarah Arrowood (Asheville, N.C.) went 1-for-3 with a RBI, and DiRobbio hit 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

  With the sweep, Milligan improves to 2-4 overall.

  Milligan's game scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 19, against University of the Cumberlands has been moved to March 10, due to the threat of inclement weather. The Buffaloes will now return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 21, against Brevard College. Game time at Anglin Field is slated for 1 p.m.
