Buffaloes baseball swept at No. 3 Lee

Cleveland, Tenn.  (Feb. 28, 2012) --- The Milligan College baseball dropped two games on Tuesday afternoon to No. 3 Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. Milligan dropped the first game 10-1 and then fell 13-0 in the second game of the day.
 
   In the first game, the Flames jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the end of two. Freshman Nathan Millsap (Kingsport, Tenn.) drove Tyree Jefferies (Norris, Tenn.) across the plate with a double, but that was the only run the Buffaloes could get across home plate.
 
   On the round, Cody Compton (Lebanon, Va.) was handed the loss. In just over three innings of work, Compton allowed six runs on eight hits. Kyle Kolat (South Bend, Ind.) and Jefferies were 2-for-2 at the plate, while Millsap ended the game 1-for-3. Wesley Jones (Kingsport, Tenn.) also recorded a hit.
 
   The second game saw both teams remain scoreless through the first two innings. However, the Flames put eight runs in the board in the bottom of the third to pull ahead. The Buffaloes kept fighting, but they were unable to get a run across home plate.
 
   Tyler Wilson (Johnson City, Tenn.) got the loss on the mound as he allowed five runs on two hits. Blake Buck (Maryville, Tenn.) was 1-for-3 at the plate, while Jones also added a hit.
 
   Milligan drops to 6-10 on the season.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Friday, March 2, when they open conference play at Bryan College. First pitch for the first game of a three game series is slated for 5 p.m., in Dayton, Tenn.
