Barbourville, Ky. (Feb. 8, 2012) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team was unable to pick up an AAC road win on Wednesday night as they fell 72-56 to Union (Ky.) College in Barbourville, Ky.

Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) opened the scoring with a layup, and the teams traded shots in the game's early minutes. Midway through the half, Union went on a 12-0 run to take a double-digit lead. The Buffaloes trimmed the lead back to double-digits with points from
Kyle Grisby (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Tyler DeVault (Kingsport, Tenn.) as Milligan cut the Union lead to 25-17 with four minutes left in the half. However, Union extended their lead to 35-25 at the break.

  In the first half, Milligan was 10-of-29 (36%) from the floor and 2-of-12 (17%) from behind the arc. Union ended the half 14-of-27 (56%) from the field and 2-of-7 (29%) from the 3-point line.

  The Buffaloes quickly pulled within six points in the first four minutes of the half with points from
Marshall Hardy (Kingsport, Tenn.) and
Mickey Woods (Port Arthur, Tex.). After the Bulldogs extended their lead back to 12 points, the Buffaloes cut the game to 44-37 with just over 13 minutes to play, but Union answered with a run of their own and the Buffaloes were unable to respond.

  Grisby led the way with 18 points.
Rob Larsen (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Hardy had six points apiece.

  As a team, Milligan was 21-of-60 (35%) from the floor and 5-of-22 (23%) from the 3-point line. Union ended the game 27-of-48 (56%) from the field and 2-of-7 (29%) from behind the arc.

  With the loss, Milligan falls to 9-15 overall and 5-9 in AAC action.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Feb. 11, when they welcome Tennessee Wesleyan into Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
