Bluefield, Va. (March 13, 2012) --- The Milligan College softball opened AAC play in style as they swept Bluefield College in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon in Bluefield, Va. The Buffaloes cruised past the Lady Rams in the first game as they picked up a 19-1 victory in five innings, and then finished the sweep with an 11-1 win in the second game.

  In the first game, the Buffaloes opened the first game with a two-run homerun from
Makenzie Lilley (Kingsport, Tenn.) in the first inning. Milligan continued to stay hot offensively as they put four runs on in the second, including a solo homerun from
Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.), and then added five and six runs in the third and fourth innings, respectively.
Brooke Ingle (Tuscola, N.C.) added a solo homerun in the fifth to cap the scoring for Milligan.

Abbey Hughes (Rogersville, Tenn.) was 3-for-3 to lead the Buffaloes at the plate. Lambdin ended the game 2-for-5 with three RBIs, and
Maleah Wolfenbarger (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 1-for-3 with three RBIs. AAC Player of the week
Camille Olvey (Maryville, Tenn.) also added three RBIs for the Buffaloes.

  In the pitching circle,
Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) picked up the win in two innings of work. Connatser allowed just one hit with three strikeouts. In relief duty, Ingle pitched two innings with four strikeouts.

  The Buffaloes started the second game off with a three-run homerun from Olvey. Milligan added single runs in the second and third innings, and then capped the game with five runs as
Emily Biggs (Kingsport, Tenn.) hit a two-run homerun and Olvey hit a solo homerun.

Brittany DiRobbio (Oviedo, Fla.) was 3-for-3, and Olvey was 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Biggs was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

  Connatser picked up her second win of the day in the pitching circle. In two innings of work, Connatser allowed two hits and had two strikeouts.
Samantha Mahala (Mountain City, Tenn.) gave up just three hits in relief duty.

  With the sweep, Milligan improves to 14-10 overall and 2-0 in AAC action.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Wednesday, March 14, when they host NCAA D-II Tusculum College at Anglin Field. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
