Milligan College, Tenn. (March 30, 2012) --- The Milligan College softball team picked up two AAC wins on Friday at Anglin Field against Point University. The Buffaloes won the first game 6-0 and then took the second game by a score of 7-2.

  In the first game, Milligan took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when junior
Camille Olvey (Maryville, Tenn.) hit a double to send freshman
Sarah Arrowood (Asheville, N.C.) home. Olvey scored from a single hit by sophomore
Maleah Wolfenbarger (Knoxville, Tenn.).ÂÂ

Brittany DiRobbio (Oviedo, Fla.) picked up another score for Milligan in the bottom of the third, and then
Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.) hit a homerun in the bottom of the fifth. DiRobbio scored for the second time during the fifth to increase the score. In the bottom of the sixth, senior
Rachel Ingleby (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored the final run for Milligan.

Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) picked up the win in the pitching circle. In four innings of work, she allowed just one hit and four strikeouts. At the plate, Lambdin was 2-for-3, while Arrowood and DiRobbio were both 1-for-2.

  Milligan took an early lead in the first inning of the second game. Lambdin hit her second homerun of the day, and after a double from
Emily Biggs (Kingsport, Tenn.), Olvey crossed home plate. Point picked up their first run of the day in the second inning and another in the fourth to tie the game, but was unable to hold onto it for long.

  In the bottom of the fourth, the Buffalos scored an impressive five runs. Freshman
Kelsey Simmons (Elizabethton, Tenn.), Lambdin, Dirobbio, Arrowood and Connatser scored runs for Milligan to secure the victory.

  Simmons ended the game 2-for-2.
Abby Hughes (Rogersville, Tenn.), Biggs and Wolfenbarger were all 2-for-3. Connatser picked up her second win of the day as she allowed just two runs on two hits.

  The Buffaloes improve to 10-2 in the AAC with the sweep and 23-13 overall.

  Milligan will host a crucial AAC doubleheader against Reinhardt College on Monday, April 2. The games are set to start at 2 p.m.
