Beaufort, S.C. (March 6, 2012) --- The Milligan College softball team swept a pair of games on their second day at the 2012 Boombah Smash Hit Tournament in Beaufort, S.C., on Tuesday afternoon. The Buffaloes rallied to take a 11-10 over Findley (Ohio) University, and then used a hot start to take a 9-1 win over Brewton-Parker.

  In the first game, Findley used hot bats to jump out to a 7-1 lead after two innings of play. However, the Buffaloes slowly cut into the gap with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth. Milligan put seven runs on board with homeruns from
Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.) and
Sarah Arrowood (Asheville, N.C.). Findley tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh, but the Buffaloes defense ended the rally.

  Freshman
Megan Nicol (Surry, British Columbia) got the win in the pitching circle. In two innings of work, Nicol allowed two runs on four hits.
Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) got the start and allowed six earned runs on 10 hits in five innings of work.

Brittany DiRobbio (Oviedo, Fla.) and Arrowood were both 2-for-4 at the plate.

  The final game of the day saw the Buffaloes score a run in the first and then put four more up in the top of the second. After both teams added a run in the fifth, Milligan secured the win with three more runs in the top of the sixth.

  Connatser got the win as she allowed just one unearned on two hits with five strikeouts. Connater was 2-for-2 with two RBIs at the plate, while
Camille Olvey (Maryville, Tenn.) was 2-for-4.
Rachel Ingleby (Knoxville, Tenn.) was 1-for-2 with a homerun.

  The wins move Milligan to 9-9 overall.
  Milligan returns to action on Wednesday, March 7, when they wrap up the Boombah Smash Hit Tournament. The Buffaloes open the day at 10 a.m., against Walsh University, and then will square off against Malone University at 12 p.m.
