Milligan College, Tenn. (April 14, 2012) --- The Milligan College softball team sent their the three seniors out in style as they swept AAC newcomer Columbia (S.C.) College on Saturday afternoon at Anglin Field. The Buffaloes won the first game 4-0, and then jumped out early to take a 3-0 win in the second game.

In the first game, Chancli Connatser (Maryville, Tenn.) opened the game with three straight strikeouts. An Abby Hughes (Rogersville, Tenn.) hit scored Arrowood as the Buffaloes took a 3-0 lead after one inning of play.

Neither team was able to get anything going in the second, but Milligan added a run in the bottom of the third when Biggs crossed the plate on a Columbia error. That would ultimately be the final run of the game as Milligan continued to keep the Columbia offense at bay.

Olvey led the way at the plate as she went 3-for-3. Biggs ended the game 2-for-3, while Arrowood and Hughes recorded two and one RBI, respectively.

The Buffaloes defense retired the top of the Columbia lineup to start the second game. Milligan opened the scoring when Olvey drove in Biggs and Arrowood crossed the plate off a Hughes single.

Neither team was able to score until the bottom of the fifth when Krista Lambdin (Knoxville, Tenn.) hit her seventh homerun of the season to put the game up 3-0 after five innings of play as well as the last run of the game.

Arrowood and Simmons led the way at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance. Connatser picked up her 20th win of the season as she did not give up a hit and had six strikeouts. Senior Brooke Ingle (Waynesville, N.C.) picked up her first save of the season. In addition to Ingle, the Buffaloes honored Rachel Ingleby (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Brittany DiRobbio (Oviedo, Fla.).
