Jackson, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team came up short 3-0 to Missouri Baptist on the first day of the Union University Soccer Classic on Friday afternoon in Jackson, Tenn.

  The Buffaloes quickly found themselves down after Megan Huffman scored in the game's second minute for the Spartans. After Huffman scored again in the 26
th minute, the Buffaloes continued fighting, but they were unable to break onto the board before the first half expired.

  In the second half, the Buffaloes continued to fight. However, they were unable to get the ball past the Spartan keeper. Missouri Baptist scored the game's final goal in the 84
th minute.

Lauren McIntuff (Kingsport, Tenn.) recorded four saves. Offensively,
Teagan Wood (Kingsport, Tenn.) had nine shots for the Buffaloes.

  With the loss, Milligan drops to 1-1-1 on the season.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 1, as they wrap up the Union University Soccer Classic against Belhaven. Match time is slated for a 1 p.m., start in Jackson, Tenn.    ÂÂ
