Jackson, Tenn. (Sept. 1, 2012) --- Lauren Brewer (Knoxville, Tenn.) sent the Milligan College women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Belhaven University on the second and final day of the Union University Soccer Classic on Saturday in Jackson, Tenn.

The Buffaloes and Blazers played an even match throughout the first half as neither could break onto the scoreboard. Milligan continued to push the ball, but was unable to convert nine shots into a goal before the half.

In the second half, Brewer broke the stalemate 10 minutes into the period as she scored an unassisted goal in the 55^th minute. The Milligan defense finished the game strong as they preserved the shutout.

Defensively, Lauren McInturff (Kingsport, Tenn.) recorded seven saves.

The Buffaloes return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when they host NCAA D-II Carson-Newman College. Match time is slated for 7 p.m., at Anglin Field.
