Bristol, Va. (Sept. 15, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team used a strong first half to take 6-0 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Virginia Intermont on Saturday evening in Bristol, Va.

  The Buffaloes opened the scoring early as
Lauren Brewer (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored in the game's seventh minute. From there,
Kelsey Jones (Royersfield, Pa.),
Ellery Alloiner (High Point, N.C.),
Grace Shawley (Mineral Springs, N.C.) and Brewer all broke through for goals in the first half to give the Buffaloes a 5-0 lead at the break.

  The Milligan defense continued to keep VI at bay, and
Samantha Barton (Marietta, Ga.) added the final Buffalo goal in the second half.

  With the win, Milligan improves to 3-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in AAC action.

  The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when they host nonconference foe Trevecca Nazarene. Match time at Anglin Field is slated for 2 p.m.
