Milligan volleyball sweeps Point in AAC action

West Point, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2012) --- The Milligan College volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference newcomer Point University on Saturday morning in West Point, Ga.
 
   The Buffaloes jumped out early to take a 25-17 set victory to open the match. In the second set, Milligan continued to hold the momentum as they cruised to a 25-14 victory. The final third set saw the Buffaloes rally late to take a 25-23 set victory to secure the match.
 
   Holly English (Kingsport, Tenn.) recorded 14 kills and five digs, while Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) recorded 20 assists in two sets of play. Katelin Henson (Kingsport, Tenn.) had a team high 11 digs. Rachel Renville (Broomfield, Colo.) had nine kills, and freshman Emilee Linkous (Morristown, Tenn.) had four kills and two solo blocks.
 
   With the win, Milligan improves to 12-6 overall and 7-0 in AAC action.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, as they travel to AAC foe Virginia Intermont. Match time in Bristol, Va., is slated for 6:30 p.m.
