Buffaloes women's soccer falls to Southern Wesleyan

Central, S.C. (Sept. 8, 2012) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team was unable to overcome two second half goals as they fell 2-0 to Southern Wesleyan University in nonconference action on Saturday in Central, S.C.
 
   In the first half, the Buffaloes saw early shots by Lindsey Ogle (Morristown, Tenn.) and Grace Shawley (Mineral Springs, N.C.) saved by the Lady Warriors keeper. The Buffaloes kept fighting, and neither team was able to score before the half.
 
   Southern Wesleyan broke onto the board in the 75th minute when Ruva Chimedza found the net. The Buffaloes tried to answer, but a shot by Teagan Wood (Kingsport, Tenn.) went high and Kelsey Kind (Johnson City, Tenn.) had a shot saved. The Lady Warriors added a goal in the 85th minute to preserve the victory.
 
   Defensively, Lauren McInturff (Kingsport, Tenn.) had three saves.
 
   With the loss, Milligan falls to 2-3-1.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 11, when they host AAC foe Montreat College. Match time at Anglin Field is slated for 4 p.m.
