Milligan men's basketball picks up AAC win over Montreat

Montreat, N.C. (Jan. 26, 2013) --- The Milligan College men's basketball team saw six players hit double-digit scoring as they outlasted Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat College to take an 86-81 victory on Saturday night in Montreat, N.C.
 
   In the game's first half, the Buffaloes slowly pulled out to a 42-35 lead at the half. The teams played even in the second half as Milligan held off a late Montreat rally to take the victory.
 
   Torian Sitton (Hendersonville, N.C.) led the way with 21 points, while Cartree Pettis (Oviedo, Fla.) recorded 17 points, six assists and four steals. Mickey Woods (Port Arthur, Tex.) finished with 12 points. Scott Blake (Greeneville, Tenn.) was 3-for-4 from the 3-point line as he tallied 11 points, and Morgan McLeod (Hickory, N.C.) and Tyler DeVault (Kingsport, Tenn.) had 10 points apiece.
 
   With the win, Milligan improves to 8-2 in AAC action and 16-7 overall, while Montreat falls to 2-7 in conference play and 7-13 overall.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 29, as they host AAC foe St. Andrews University. Game time in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse is slated for 7:30 p.m.
