Milligan women's soccer falls in AAC conference match-up

Waleska, GA. (October 27, 2013) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team fell 4-0 in Sunday's game against Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Reinhardt University.

Milligan started the game with a defensive struggle allowing nine shots in the first half. Milligan's defense held most of the first half until Reinhardt's first goal, which came in the 29th minute by Alex Mahan. Reinhardt's offense continued the pressure throughout the remainder of the first half adding two additional goals in the 34th and 36th minute. The Buffaloes would finish the half trialing 3-0.

Milligan's offense seemed to pick up the pace as they added six shots at the Reinhardt keeper early in the second half. The Buffalo defense played a stronger second half with Lauren MacInturff (Kingsport, Tenn.) recording six of her eight saves in the half, only allowing one goal late in the game. Although the Buffaloes seemed to come together towards the end of the game, Milligan would finish the game 4-0.

Caroline Gill (Stafford, VA) recorded three shots and Christine Hardin (Elizabethton, Tenn.) had one shot on goal.

With tonight's loss, the Buffaloes' record falls to 5-9-1 overall and 4-5 in the AAC.

The Buffaloes will face their next opponent at home on Anglin field, Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. as they host Mars Hill.
