Milligan College, Tenn. (October 29, 2013) --- The Milligan College women's volleyball team was unable to hold off the Union College Bulldogs in an Appalachian Athletic Conference rally and fell 3-1. ÂÂ

Early in the first set, the Buffaloes and Bulldogs traded points back-and-forth but Milligan was unable to hold off Union and lost the first set 25-14. With a strong second set start from Union, Milligan was unable to rally and lost 25-11.ÂÂ

Milligan captured the third set to continue play with kills from
Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) and Samantha Bruinius (Tinley Park, IL), winning 26-24.  ÂÂ

The Lady Buffaloes continued back-and-forth with the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth set to tie the game 23-23, but were unable to hold on and lost to Union 25-23.ÂÂ

Bruinius led Milligan in kills with a total of 15 with Whaley right behind her at 14.ÂÂ
Jessica Davenport (Cleveland, Tenn.) recorded 36 assists on the night.  ÂÂ

With the night's loss, the Buffaloes record falls to 13-19 overall and 8-9 in the AAC.

The Buffaloes will return to action Friday, November 1, inside Steve Lacey Fieldhouse for senior night at 6:30pm against Columbia College, SC.
