Milligan College, TN. (November 23, 2013) â€" The Milligan College women's basketball team defeated the Skyhawks of Point University 88-80 in Saturday afternoon's AAC match-up inside the Steve Lacy Field House.

The Buffaloes started the half jumping to a 16-9 lead over the Skyhawks in the first five minutes of the half. Point, however, would make a nine-point run to bring the game within two at 18-16. The Skyhawks took the lead from that point and would keep it the remainder of the half seeing the Buffaloes trail 44-38.

The Buffaloes stayed within a few points of Point for most of the second half until finally taking the lead 54-52 after two free throws made by sophomore
Allison Jones (Morristown, Tenn.). The Buffaloes continued to hold a small lead for the remaining minutes ending the game ahead 88-80.

Jones recorded a team high of 27 points along with
Haley Wyrick (Coeburn, Va.) who followed closely with 23 points.
Robyn Anthony (Chattanooga, Tenn.) recorded 13 points for the afternoon with four assists and
Chelsey Weddle (Hampton, Tenn.) earned a double-double with 12 rebounds and 15 points.

With the win the Buffaloes will improve to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the AAC.

The Buffaloes will return to action Nov. 26 when they travel to Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, Tenn. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
