Ansley Ferguson (Kingsport, Tenn.) would strike first for the Buffaloes in the 30th minute off an assist by Christine Hardin (Elizabethton, Tenn.) bringing the Buffaloes to an early lead of 1-0. The Buffaloes remained consistent both offensively and defensively in the second half allowing only three shots by the Virginia Intermont and again adding double figures in shots at 14. Late in the second half, Lindsey Ogle (Morristown, Tenn.) would give the Buffaloes a 2-0 lead from an assist by Sadie Bradshaw (Chattanooga, Tenn.). Virginia Intermont would sneak a last minute goal in behind the Buffalo keeper to bring the game 2-1. However, the Cobras would be unable to rally and tie the game giving the Buffaloes the win 2-1.

Head Coach Lisa Buckley commented, "I just wanted to play effective soccer. I challenged the girls to stay perfect. The postseason is a new season and we did enough to get the job done."

Ferguson and Ogle both recorded four shots on goal. Laura Haun (Strawberry Plains, Tenn.) had three shots on the night and Ellery Alloiner (High Point, N.C.), Keri Harrison (Kingsport, Tenn.) and Hardin each recorded two shots on the evening.
