Milligan College, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2013) --- The Milligan College women's basketball team saw their three seniors combine for 43 points to pace the Buffaloes to a 75-63 victory over Union (Ky.) College in Appalachian Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Dorian Freeman (Augusta, Ga.) opened the scoring and
Tracy Hardiman (Maryville, Tenn.) hit a 3-pointer to push the Buffaloes to a 9-4 lead five minutes into the game. Senior
Johneshia Good (Johnson City, Tenn.) hit back-to-back buckets for the Buffaloes as Milligan traded shots with the Lady Bulldogs, and senior
Jamiee Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) hit a jumper to give Milligan an 18-11 lead just before midway of the first half.

  The Buffaloes maintained their advantage with shots from
Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and Hardiman as Milligan held a 26-20 lead with five minutes left in the half. However, Union chipped away to take their first lead of the game at 29-28 with two minutes left. The Buffaloes tied the game right before half with four straight points from Good to tie the game at 32-32 at the half.

  Hardiman and Hill led the way with 10 points apiece. As a team, the Buffaloes were 11-of-40 (28%) from the field and 2-of-12 (17%) from behind the arc. Union finished the half 12-of-36 (33%) from the floor and 3-of-9 (33%) from the 3-point line.

  In the second half, Hill and Good sparked the Buffaloes to start the frame on a 15-4 run to take a 47-36 lead just over 15 minutes to play. Milligan continued to extend their lead with baskets from Freeman and Hardiman as they held a 58-42 lead just before the midpoint of the half.

  The Lady Bulldogs slowly cut the lead to nine points, but Freeman recorded three points and Good added a jumper to push the Buffaloes lead to 68-54 with just over three minutes left. In the final minutes, Milligan kept Union at bay to pickup the victory.

  Milligan was paced by the three seniors as they were led by Good's 17 points, while Freeman and Hill recorded 13 points apiece. Hardiman and Kelly tallied 14 points apiece in the game.

  As a team, Milligan was 25-of-78 (32%) from the field and 5-of-23 (22%) from behind the 3-point line. Union was 26-of-70 (37%) from the floor and 3-of-17 (18%) from behind the arc.

  With the win, the Buffaloes improve to 13-2 in AAC action and 20-8 overall, while Union falls to 16-9 overall and 9-6 in conference play.

  The win sets Milligan up for a battle for first place in the AAC with Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. Game time in Athens, Tenn., is slated for 2 p.m.
