Laurinburg, N.C. (Sept. 17, 2013) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team was unable to answer a late goal as they fell 2-1 to St. Andrews University in Appalachian Athletic Conference action on Tuesday in Laurinburg, N.C.

  The Buffaloes opened the scoring in the 14
th minute when
Rebecca Buchanan (Knoxville, Tenn.) beat the Lady Knights defender to give Milligan a 1-0 lead. Neither team was able to add another goal before the half as the Buffaloes took a 1-0 lead into the half.

  In the second half, St. Andrews tied the match with a goal in the 60
th minute. The teams kept attacking. Neither team was able to break the stalemate until the Lady Knights scored in the closing minutes to take the victory.

  Defensively,
Charlotte Stephens (Grays, England) and
Lauren McInturff (Kingsport, Tenn.) each played a half in goal for Milligan.

  The Buffaloes move to 2-4-1 overall and 1-2 in AAC action.

  Milligan returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 17, as they host former AAC rival King University. Match time at Anglin Field is set for 7 p.m.
