Montreat, N.C. (Sept. 24, 2013) --- The Milligan College volleyball team was unable to capture a fifth set victory as they fell 3-2 to Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat College on Tuesday night in Montreat, N.C.

  Milligan held on to open the match with a 25-22 first set victory. After falling 25-13 in the second set, the Buffaloes rallied for a 25-22 victory in the third set to take a 2-1 lead in the match.

  In the fourth set, Montreat pulled away in the closing points to take a 25-22 set victory. The Buffaloes were unable to hold off a late Lady Cavaliers rally in the fifth set as they fell 18-16.

Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) recorded 15 kills, while
Emilee Linkous (Morristown, Tenn.) tallied 14 kills.
Jessica Davenport (Cleveland, Tenn.) ended the match with 47 assists.
Kaitlyn Round (Billings, Mont.) tallied a team high 32 digs, while
Samantha Bruinius (Chicago, Ill.) recorded 16 digs.

  Milligan falls to 2-4 in conference play and 6-12 overall.
