Milligan volleyball sweeps Lady Bulldogs

Milligan College, Tenn. (Sept. 27, 2013) --- The Milligan College volleyball team picked up a 3-0 sweep of Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday night inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
 
   In the opening set, the Buffaloes used a late run to take a 25-21 set victory. The second set saw the trade serves, but the Buffaloes captured a 25-20 victory to take a 2-0 lead. In the decisive third set, Tennessee Wesleyan tied the match at 17-17, but the Buffaloes outscored the Lady Bulldogs 8-5 to capture the match victory.
 
   Kylie Whaley (Maryville, Tenn.) led the game with 11 kills, while Emilee Linkous (Morristown, Tenn.) recorded seven kills. Grace Ann Moorhouse (Morristown, Tenn.) and Kaitlyn Round (Billings, Mont.) tallied a team high nine digs. Jessica Davenport (Cleveland, Tenn.) had 35 assists in the match.
 
  With the win, the Buffaloes improve to 6-13 overall and 3-4 in AAC play.
 
  Milligan returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29, as they host Bryan College and Dalton State for a tri-match. Action is slated for an 11 a.m., start inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.
