Buffaloes women's soccer nets win over Union

Barbourville, Ky. (Sept. 28, 2013) --- The Milligan College women's soccer team used three second half goals to take a 3-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference victory over Union (Ky.) College on Saturday afternoon in Barbourville, Ky.
 
   The Buffaloes were unable to score on a pair of early shots from Rebecca Buchanan (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Kelsey Jones (Royersford, Pa.). Union took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute with a Helen Weber goal off of a deflect. The Buffaloes continue to press, but they were unable to score as they trailed 1-0 at the break.
 
   The Buffaloes evened the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute as Keri Harrison (Kingsport, Tenn.) scored off an assist from Christine Hardin (Elizabethton, Tenn.). Hardin kicked Milligan into the lead in the 82nd minute as she scored off a Buchanan assist, and Milligan wrapped up the scoring in the 84th minute off a Union own goal.
 
   Defensively, Lauren McInturff (Kingsport, Tenn.) recorded five saves.
 
   With the win, Milligan improves to 3-2 in conference and 4-5-1 overall.
 
   The Buffaloes return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, as they host AAC foe Tennessee Wesleyan. Match time at Anglin Field is set for 1 p.m.
