WALESKA, Ga. (Feb. 17, 2014) â€" In one of the most tightly-contested games of the season, the Milligan College women's basketball team fell to AAC foe Reinhardt University 67-63 on the road in Monday's rescheduled contest at the Brown Athletic Center.

Neither team led by more than six for all 40 minutes as Milligan fell to 16-11 (12-7 AAC). The Buffaloes are in fourth place, one game back of Bryan, with a game to go in the regular season. Reinhardt (12-14, 9-9 AAC) moved to fifth place in league standings.

Allison Jones, who had 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, gave Milligan the lead (61-60) with a pair of free throws at the 3:11 mark in the second half, but the Buffaloes went cold from that point on, making only one of their last six shots and watching Reinhardt finish on a 7-2 run.

The game saw 15 ties and 13 lead changes, including seven ties and five lead changes in the final 20 minutes. Milligan's largest lead, of six, came on two straight possessions around the midway point of the second half. Reinhardt never led by more than four.

Jones was 5-of-9 from the floor but made only one shot (1-4) past the halftime break. She made all seven of her free throw attempts.

Kayla Kelly scored 15 points as the only other Buffalo in double figures.
Robyn Anthony finished with seven points and eight rebounds.
Chelsey Weddle had eight points and seven rebounds.

As a team, Milligan shot 37.1% (23-62) and left seven points at the foul line, shooting 9-of-16 (56.3%) from the charity stripe. The Buffs also turned the ball over 18 times.

Reinhardt's Brooke Thomas led all scorers with 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting. April Besley posted a double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds.

Milligan will remain on the road for the final game of the regular season, facing Montreat College (14-12, 8-8 AAC) on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5:30 p.m. The AAC conference tournament will be held in Kingsport, Tenn., Feb. 26 â€" March 1.
