Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer falls to St. Andrews

LAURINBURG, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2015) â€" Charlotte Stephens recorded a career high of 12 saves, but the Milligan College women's soccer team lost to St. Andrews University 4-0 Tuesday afternoon on the road.

Stephens, who missed the last two and a half games due to injury, made her return one to remember, picking up six saves in each half on the way to breaking her previous best by three. Milligan dropped to 3-10-1 (2-5-1 AAC) while St. Andrews took a firm hold of third place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference with a record of 9-3-2 (4-1-2 AAC).

Previously this season, Stephens had matched her career high twice and been within two of it four times. She was statistically one of the top keepers in the AAC before being sidelined with the injury. Now, Stephens still ranks third in the league in total saves.

St. Andrews got on the board in the 19th minute on a goal from Madi Castro before adding a pair later in the first half. The Lady Knights then rounded out the scoring in the 62nd minute.

Next up, Milligan will be at Anglin Field on Saturday, Oct. 24, for the last home match of the regular season, hosting Bryan College at 3 p.m. The game will be part of homecoming weekend and will be followed by the men.
