MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2016) â€" Milligan College's women's soccer team celebrated its seniors Saturday afternoon.
Sidney Bailey,
Rebecca Buchanan,
Christine Hardin,
Keri Harrison,
Katelyn Johnson,
Karley Sommerfield and
Charlotte Stephens played their last home games for the Buffaloes. Milligan fell to the St. Andrews University Knights in a 1-0 low scoring affair.
ÂÂ
Milligan (7-7, 3-5 AAC) created chances all day and pressured the St. Andrews defense all game. The Buffaloes outshot the Knights 15-6, and 9-1 on goal. However, that one on goal was all St. Andrews needed on the offensive side.
ÂÂ
After surrendering the first goal, Milligan's defense led by Samantha Joy,
Madison Thomas and
Taylor Hatmaker did not bend the slightest and did not allow the Knights anymore shots on goal.
ÂÂ
Sophomore
Amy Olvera led the Buffaloes on offense for the game, with six total shots and two on goal. Bailey,
Amy Long and
Bekah Cundiff each had two shots in the game.
ÂÂ
Milligan will close out its season with two road conference games. The Buffaloes travel to Tennessee Wesleyan on Tuesday and wrap up regular season play at Truett-McConnell the following Monday.
