MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2016) â€" The Milligan College volleyball team reached two milestones of the season Tuesday night in a sweep of Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Columbia College, 25-22, 25-11, 25-22.

It was the 20th overall win of the season and a league-leading 10th in the AAC as Milligan improved to 20-6 (10-2 AAC) for its eighth win in the last 10 matches. The Buffs also won for the 10th time at home this season, improving to 10-1 inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Milligan closed out each set in dominating fashion, going on runs of 5-1 and 14-4 in the first two sets before winning three of the last four points of the match to seal the win. Freshman

Marissa Langford finished off the second set with one of her match-high 11 kills; and senior
Samantha Bruinius finished off the match with one of her 10 kills.

Dockery had one of the best matches of her season as she finished with three solo blocks, five kills with no attack errors, and attacked at a rate of .625. Similarly,
Alora Ricker had five kills and only one error to attack at .444.

Milligan will be back home on Thursday, Oct. 6, for a nonconference match against Dalton State beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Buffs will then have six more home matches during the month of October, in preparation for the AAC tournament which is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 10-12, in Kingsport.
