MONTREAT, N.C. (Dec. 3, 2016) â€" Four Buffs reached double figures in scoring, but the No. 23 Milligan College women's basketball team was handed a 74-65 loss at Montreat College in Appalachian Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

Milligan (7-4, 4-1 AAC) was led in scoring by
Sarah Robinson who recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Kelly Barnett finished with 13 points alongside four assists;
Lindsee Price scored 11 points with six assists and six rebounds; and
Morgan Gose had 10 points, four assists and eight rebounds.

Milligan rebounded from a slow start, which saw the Buffs trail by as many as six in the first quarter, by battling back with a run of 11 straight points to take the lead in the second quarter. It looked from there like the Buffs were in control and poised to extend the lead, but Montreat responded with a run of its own, ending the half on a 8-2 run which made it 31-29, Milligan, at the halftime break.

Milligan again went up by as many as six in the third quarter only to see the Lady Cavaliers end the quarter on a 9-5 run before opening the fourth on a 10-4 run. In all, it was a 19-9 run which put Montreat on top for good in the fourth quarter.

As a team, Milligan shot 31.6 percent from the floor and 22.7 percent from three, compared to 45.6 percent from the floor and 18.2 percent from three for Montreat. Darah DeWalt led Montreat with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Milligan has one more home game in 2016 as the Buffs will host Bluefield College on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m. Milligan will then be on the road for the next six games until returning home Jan. 7.
