WEST POINT, Ga. (April 16, 2016) â€" Eight Buffs recorded a hit, but the Milligan College baseball team lost to Point University in the first game of a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series Saturday night.
 
Andrew Copas' hit came with an RBI as he drove in Hunter Suggs with two out in the top of the fifth but that would be all the scoring for the Buffs, who gave up a run in the bottom of the fourth and four runs in the bottom of the fifth on the way to the loss. Luke Spaulding made the start on the hill and suffered the loss.
 
Milligan's (17-21, 8-11 AAC) pitching staff held Point to four hits, two of which came in the big fourth inning.
 
Milligan and Point will finish the series with a doubleheader on Sunday, April 17, at 1 p.m., and the Buffs will be back home on Tuesday, April 19, for a nonconference tilt with University of the Cumberlands.
