BRISTOL, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2016) â€" Milligan College's women's soccer team made a quick trip to nearby Bristol to take on King University. The Buffalos struggled to contain the Tornado offense and fell 5-1.
Milligan College (3-2, 1-0 AAC) went toe-to-toe with the NCAA Div. II rival and ended the first half tied at zero.
A pair of Buffalo freshman put an end to the scoring drought early in the second half.
Alyson McMillan scored her third goal of the season off an assist from
Bekah Cundiff and put Milligan up by one. At least one freshman has scored in all five games of the season.
The Buffaloes did not generate any more offense and King responded with five goals from five different players.
Milligan was outshot 10 to 27 and four shots on goal to 12. Reigning AAC Defender of the Week
Charlotte Stephens added seven more saves to her season total.
The Buffaloes will stay on the road for a game against Emory & Henry College on Sunday at 5 p.m. They return home next Wednesday night to host AAC rival Union College.
