EMORY, Va. (Sept. 18, 2016) â€" Milligan College's women's soccer team traveled to Emory, Virginia, on Sunday to take on the Emory & Henry College Wasps. The Buffalo offense dictated the game and led to a 2-0 victory.
Milligan (4-2, 1-0 AAC) controlled the game and stayed on the offensive. Despite going scoreless in the first half, the Buffaloes created plenty of opportunities and gave their opponents none. They had 14 shots in the first half alone and held the Wasps to one.
Emory & Henry goalkeeper Kieran Liseski challenged the Buffaloes in the first half with six saves, but one minute in the second half changed the game. Milligan continued its relentless pressure on Emory & Henry's defense and scored two goals 57 seconds apart.
Junior Brittany Davis scored her first goal of the season and the first goal of the game.
Milligan's leading scorer, freshman Bekah Cundiff, followed Davis with a goal of her own. Sophomore Amy Long assisted her on the play.
Both Buffalo goal keepers, Charlotte Stephens and Taylor Robinson, played a half and had one save off of one shot on goal from the Wasps.
The Buffaloes return home for their second conference game of the season on Wednesday to take on Union. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m.ÂÂ
