MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Sept. 21, 2016) â€" Milligan College's women's soccer team hosted Appalachian Athletic Conference rival Union College on Wednesday evening. In a game that only featured one goal, the Buffaloes created several opportunities, but could not capitalize and lost 1-0.

Milligan (4-3, 1-1 AAC) dominated the possession in the first half and created many shots on goal. The Buffaloes outshot the Bulldogs nine to four in the first 45 minutes.

Amy Long created multiple chances, with three shots resulting in saves by Union goal keeper, Kendall Ellington.

The Buffaloes put pressure on Ellington all night, forcing her to save several shots.

Early in the second half, Union broke the scoreless streak and scored a header from Tuany Miguel off a corner kick.

The Buffaloes created some opportunities late, but could not tie things up and dropped its first conference game of the season.ÂÂ

Milligan will look to bounce back at home on Saturday, Sept. 24, for another AAC matchup, this one against AAC preseason favorite Reinhardt with kickoff set for 2 p.m. The men's game will follow at approximately 4 p.m.
