ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Dec. 10, 2017) â€" The Milligan College men's basketball team traveled to UNC Asheville for their first NCAA Division I exhibition game of December on Sunday afternoon. The Buffs (4-9) lost to the Bulldogs (6-4), 97-60.

THE FIRST HALF
Milligan was outrebounded by UNC Asheville 30-12 in the first twenty minutes of play. The Buffs shot 12.5 percent from the field in comparison to the Bulldogs' 58.3 percent in the first half, and 20 percent from the free throw line in comparison to UNC Asheville's 85.7 percent enabling the Bulldogs to get out in front early.

THE SECOND HALF
Despite the 36-point lead at the half, Milligan refused to go down without a fight scoring 43 points in the second half in comparison to the 17 points in the first. The Buffs were outscored by just one point (44-43) in the final twenty minutes.

STATISTICAL LEADERS
Senior
David Casaday led the Buffs with 16 points, 12 of which were 3-pointers. Junior
Aaron Levarity followed putting up 12 points and seven rebounds while adding two blocks. Sophomore
Daxton Bostian led with six assists and four steals.

Six Bulldogs were in double-digits in the scoring column. UNC Asheville's Raekwon Miller led with 19 points and ten rebounds and following was Macio Teague 15 points and Donovan Gilmore with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Bulldogs went 24-of-28 from the free-throw line.

Milligan earned one more steal than the Bulldogs (9-8).
