THOMASVILLE, Ga. (Feb. 4, 2017) - The Milligan College baseball team wrapped up its series with Thomas University on Saturday. The Buffs dropped both games, 5-2 and 4-2, and got swept in their first series of the year.
Milligan (0-3, 0-0 AAC) fell behind early in both games and never led in either contest. In game one, Thomas scored four runs in the first two innings and never looked back. The Buffs got on the board in the top of the third, scoring a pair of runs of their own. After going three for four in Friday's game, Ryan Young scored his first RBI of the season. During the next at-bat, Clayton Conner got his first RBI of the season as well and cut the Thomas lead in half. That would be the only offense the Buffs would generate and lost game one of the double header 5-2.
Game two did not fair much better for Milligan. The Night Hawks scored four runs over the course of the game and took that lead into the final inning. The Buffs attempted a comeback in the top of the seventh, but ultimately fell short. Jascanel Ferreras and Juan Vasquez both added RBIs before Thomas closed out the Buffs 4-2.
Milligan returns to action next weekend when they travel to Martin Methodist College for a three game series. First pitch of game one is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m.
