BARBOURVILLE, K.Y. (Sept. 23, 2017) â€" The Milligan College women's soccer team earned their first Appalachian Athletic Conference win Saturday evening against the Union College Bulldogs. Unlike the 0-1 loss last year, a team effort led to the conference win over the Bulldogs, 2-1.

The Buffs immediately came out in the first half ready to attack. The Milligan offense dominated outshooting the Bulldogs 7-2 despite Union's sole goal in the first 12 minutes of the game. It did not take but six minutes for the Buffs to battle back with senior captain

Ellie Cachiaras all led the Buffs with three shots apiece. Cachiaras connected for her first goal of her collegiate career in the 28
th minute of the first half with an assist by freshman

Though no goal was scored in the second half, the Milligan offense continued to dominate outshooting Union 13-2 forcing Union goalkeeper Courtney Ford to tally eight saves. Freshman goalkeeper
Eva Bower tallied a total of two saves. The Buffaloes held their ground and kept the 2-1 lead in their second conference road game of the 2017 season.

The Buffs return home for two more conference contests against Bluefield College and Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 30.
