(Jan. 4, 2018) â€" After trailing by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter and roaring back to trim the lead to one with just over a minute left, the Milligan College women's basketball team dropped an Appalachian Athletic Conference decision at Brenau University, 66-61, Thursday evening.

Sarah Robinson scored a bucket to cap a 16-2 run which made it 61-60 with 1:13 left, then the Buffs had a chance to take the lead on their next possession but missed on a couple of tries. Brenau's Autumn Dodson made two free throws in the closing seconds then after another couple of misses from Milligan to tie, the Golden Tigers scored one final time as time expired.

Milligan fell to 7-9 (3-7 AAC) while the Golden Tigers improved to 10-3 (7-3 AAC).

MILLIGAN'S BIG RUN
Milligan trailed the whole way, including facing a 14-point deficit in the first quarter, but the Buffs battled back with a huge run over a span of five and a half minutes late in the fourth.
Kaely Gose got the run going with a basket just inside the seven-minute mark to make it 60-47;
Cassidy Anderson scored to make it 60-49;
Teal Davis scored to make it 62-51; Robinson followed with back-to-back baskets including an and-one to make it 62-56; then
Andi Lamb hit a big 3-pointer to make it 62-59.

After a quiet span of nearly two minutes, Robinson scored the basket to make it a one-point game, but Brenau responded from there.

LEADERS
Robinson led all scorers and rebounders with 28 points and 11 boards, her second double-double of the season. Lamb was next in the scoring column with 10 points, and Davis had seven points.

For Brenau, which won its fifth straight, Dodson led the way with 18 points on 8-of-18 shooting. One of the top 3-point shooters and scorers in the country, Dodson was 3-for-11 from 3-point.
