MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2018) â€" Even a two-hour delay could not slow down the Milligan College volleyball team as they cruised to their ninth straight win with a straight set victory (25-6, 25-19, 25-19) over Appalachian Athletic Conference member Bryan College (9-14, 5-8 AAC) Friday night inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. With the win, the Buffaloes (18-4, 11-2) swept the season series against the Lions, who have now lost four straight, after winning in five sets on the road in September.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first set, Milligan surged to an 11-0 run and never looked back as they dominated 25-6. The second game of the match was far more competitive with 13 ties and five lead changes. The Buffs used runs of 3-0 and 4-0 to create enough distance between them and the Lions for a 25-19 victory.
In the third and final set, Bryan looked to be in control early jumping out to a 7-1 lead, but Milligan would put themselves back in the fight with an 8-3 run to get within one. The Buffs would then outscore the Lions 16-9 the rest of the way to finish off the sweep.
