ATHENS, Tenn. (Oct. 23, 2018) â€" Kellee Geren recorded her 13th double-double of the season, and the Milligan College volleyball team extended their winning streak to 12 games with a four-set Appalachian Athletic Conference victory (25-17, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16) over Tennessee Wesleyan Tuesday night inside James L. Robb Gymnasium. Milligan remained perfect on the road with the win as they are now 6-0 away from Steve Lacy Fieldhouse this season.

Senior libero, Alyssa Rupert, set the tone defensively in the first set for the Buffaloes (21-4, 14-2 AAC) scooping up 11 of her 34 digs to help lead Milligan to a 25-17 victory. Milligan's defense held the Bulldogs (14-17, 10-8 AAC) to a .054 attack percentage in the first game.
After dropping the second frame, Milligan opened the third on a 10-4 run and built as large of a lead as nine before winning 25-19 to reclaim the advantage, 2-1.
In the fourth and final set, both teams traded blows back-and-forth early on until Milligan turned up the intensity down the stretch. With the score tied at 14 all, the Buffs would go on an 11-2 run to finish off the Bulldogs and pick up the road win.
BY THE NUMBERS
It was a career night for sophomore middle blocker, Julia Codispoti, who put down a career high 13 kills on 25 attempts with only two errors for a match-high .440 hitting percentage. Freshman Elise Gregory led all players with 19 kills and came away with six digs.
Julie Dockery drove home nine kills and chipped in two blocks, while Alyssa Gibson and Jericka Emert finished off five and four attacks respectively.
Geren registered 43 assists on 53 of Milligan's kills and tallied 15 digs en route to her 13th double-double of the year.
Freshman defensive specialist, Layla Grant, helped solidify the Milligan backrow with 16 digs, which was three shy of her career high for a four-set match.

Milligan has three matches remaining this season, with the next two coming on the road against Montreat (Oct. 26) and Truett-McConnell (Oct. 30). The Buffs return home to Steve Lacy Fieldhouse for the final match of the regular season against AAC foe Union Thursday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
