MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Sept. 1, 2018) â€" Junior Roberto Fernandez Garrido and freshman Harry Griffin scored the decisive two goals in Milligan College's 2-0 win over Siena Heights (1-2) Saturday night at Anglin Field. The Buffs are now 2-0 on the season for the first time since 2009.
GARRIDO AND GRIFFIN PUT BUFFS UP EARLY
After controlling the attack early into the match, Garrido put the Buffs on the board in the 13th minute off of an assist from Joel Dominguez. Garrido seems to be fitting in quite nicely with Milligan as that was already his third goal of the season, after scoring two in the season opener.
After a near miss by Dominguez that was blocked by the Saints, Griffin followed with his first goal of the season in the 19th minute. The two goals would be all the Buffs needed to hold off Siena Heights.
BY THE NUMBERS
Keeper Luke Dove recorded his second clean sheet of the season posting five saves. Overall, the Buffs outshot the Saints 16-9 including seven shots on goal. Garrido led the team with six shots with two on frame and Robell Habte followed with three shots including two on goal.
Milligan's six goals scored on the season are the most they have tallied through two games since 2014 (7).
