WEST POINT, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2018) â€" Despite four shots from
Roberto Fernandez Garrido, the Milligan College men's soccer team was shut out 3-0 Saturday evening by Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Point University at River Bowl Stadium. The loss marked the first time this season the Buffaloes have fallen to .500 as their record now stands at 4-4 (0-4 AAC).
Point's (7-0-1, 2-0 AAC) Pablo Acebron found the back of the net in the eighth minute to give the Skyhawks the early 1-0 lead. The score would remain the same heading into halftime, but Point would add two more goals in the second half to put away the Buffs.
Overall, Milligan was outshot 21-11 by the Skyhawks, who also recorded more shots on frame with 10 to the Buffs two.
Joel Dominguez and
Harry Griffin each added two shots and both recorded one shot on goal. Keeper
Luke Dove posted seven saves for the match.
UP NEXT
Milligan will remain on the road for their next two matches as they square off against Bluefield College and Lees-McRae College. The Buffs will return home to Anglin Field Wednesday, Oct. 10, when they host St. Andrews in an AAC matchup.
