DAYTON, Tenn. (Jan. 2, 2019) â€" In a battle of the top two teams in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, the No. 23 Milligan College women's basketball team fell to No. 17 Bryan College, 74-66, Wednesday evening on the road.

The loss dropped the Buffs, who have now lost three straight after winning the first nine to open the season, to 9-3 (7-1 AAC). Bryan won its 11th straight to improve to 12-1 (10-0 AAC).

TALE OF THE SECOND HALF
Milligan had the lead early in the fourth quarter and looked poised to draw even with the Lions in conference standing, but a 13-0 run starting late in the third quarter and an 8-1 run in the fourth quarter sent the Lions to victory. Milligan led 54-45 after a pair of made free throws with two minutes left in the third before the start of the former run, and again led 59-58 after a bucket by
Kaely Gose with eight minutes left in regulation before the latter run.

Bryan went up by six midway through the final quarter and made enough free throws down the stretch to maintain its lead.

MILLIGAN LEADERS
Teal Davis scored a career high 13 points to lead a group of four Buffs in double figures. Gose followed with 12, and Raizor and
Sarah Robinson each scored 10. Four other Buffs were a part of the scoring action, including
Andi Lamb who scored nine and
Hannah Wyrick who had seven.

Gose and Raizor led Milligan with 11 rebounds apiece for their second and fifth double-doubles of the season, respectively.

FOR BRYAN
Karli Combs, the NAIA Division II leader in made 3-point field goals per game at 4.4 per game, went 4-for-5 from the perimeter and led Bryan with 17 points. Deandra Luna scored 16 points and added eight assists.

Milligan heads to West Point, Georgia, for an AAC matchup against Point University (8-4, 7-3 AAC) Saturday at 2 p.m. After that, the Buffs will be home for their next five games, starting with Brenau University next Tuesday, Jan. 8.
