Kaely Gose was on fire for the Milligan College women's basketball team Tuesday evening, scoring 24 points and adding seven rebounds to lead the Buffaloes past Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Brenau University, 82-56.

Gose's game high 24 points were four shy of her career high and helped Milligan improve to 11-3 (9-1 AAC). The Buffs won their second straight and remained within a game and a half of the AAC lead. Brenau, ranked 12th in the AAC, dropped to 5-9 (3-8 AAC) and lost its sixth straight.

LETHAL FIRST-HALF RUN LEADS TO BUFFS WIN
Milligan and Brenau traded two leads over the first two and a half minutes before Milligan unleashed a 17-0 run beginning with a basket by
Mackenzie Raizor with four and a half minutes left in the first quarter to surge into a comfortable lead for the remainder of the contest. Immediately ensuing on the run,
Andi Lamb followed with an and-one, Gose and
Emily Kiser connected for triples in a span of three possessions and
Sarah Robinson capped the first quarter with a reverse fast-break layup to put the Buffs up 29-10 at the first break.

Milligan continued the run, extending it up to 17-0, with another basket by Kiser to make it 31-10 before Brenau finally had an answer on the other end.

MILLIGAN INCREASES BIG LEAD
Milligan went on to lead by 22 in the first half, by 27 on two occasions in the third quarter, and by 32 midway through the fourth quarter.
Sydney Breeding scored the bucket to put Milligan up by its largest lead, 76-44, with less than six minutes left, capping an 8-0 run in the final period.

LEADERS
Gose (9-of-15 from the floor; 2-of-3 from three) was the only Buff to reach double figures in scoring, although 13 other Buffs entered the scoring column. Raizor,
Emma Kate Brown, Kiser and
Lexi Weddle all scored seven; Robinson and Lamb both scored six.

Weddle led the rebounding effort with a career high nine boards. Raizor and Gose both followed with seven while
Morgan Gose registered six.

Milligan continues its current five-game homestand Thursday when the Buffs welcome Bluefield College (8-8, 7-5 AAC) for an AAC matchup at 5:30 p.m. The Buffs will also be home Saturday, next Monday and next Wednesday.
